Price: From £250 + VAT

## Problems this solves

- Half your day goes on answering calls and messages just to book people in
- Clients book through Instagram DMs and things get missed
- No shows cost you money and you have no way to take a deposit
- Your booking link opens a page that looks nothing like your business
- The booking widget is slow or breaks on phones
- You pay for a booking tool but most bookings still come by phone

## Key facts

- Booking websites from £250 + VAT, with larger multi service sites on our Business package from £500 + VAT
- We work with the booking tool that suits you, including Calendly, SimplyBook.me, Fresha and Amelia
- Deposits or full payment at booking through Stripe or PayPal to cut no shows
- Book now button on every page and click to call for people who prefer to phone
- SimplyBook.me is listed on Google's Reserve with Google partner directory, and Fresha documents its own Reserve with Google setup
- Booking forms collect only what you need, in line with UK GDPR
- You keep ownership of the website and the domain

## Choosing a booking system

The booking tool matters more than the website around it, because it is what your clients use and what you live in every day. We do not resell any of them and we are happy to work with whatever you already pay for. The common choices for small UK businesses are:

| Tool | What it is | Often suits |

| Calendly | Hosted scheduling that links to your Google or Outlook calendar | Consultants, coaches, sales calls, simple one to one meetings |
| SimplyBook.me | Hosted booking system with services, staff, payments and a client area | Clinics, tutors, tours, classes and multi staff services |
| Fresha | Salon and spa software with a public marketplace and card payments | Hair, beauty, nails, barbers, massage |
| Amelia | WordPress plugin, so bookings and data sit on your own site | Businesses that want everything inside a WordPress site |

Check how each charges. Fresha, for example, charges a fee on new clients who find you through its marketplace; Zenoti's UK comparison lists it at 20% with a £4 minimum. Calendly and SimplyBook.me use monthly plans. Amelia is a plugin licence. We help you compare on your actual numbers before you commit.

## Embed or link: how the booking fits into your site

There are two ways to add booking to a website, and both work.

- **Embedded.** The booking calendar sits inside a page on your site. Visitors never leave, which feels joined up. The downside is that some widgets are heavy and slow the page, so we load them only on the booking page, not across the whole site.
- **Linked.** The Book now button opens the provider's booking page, branded with your logo and colours. It loads fast and is reliable on phones, and the provider looks after updates.

Plugin based tools such as Amelia sit natively inside WordPress, so there is no third party page at all. That gives the most control, but you are responsible for updates and hosting. Either way, we put a book button in the header, at the end of every service page and in a sticky bar on phones, because people decide to book at different points.

## Deposits, cancellations and no shows

The quickest way to reduce no shows is to take a deposit. Most booking tools take card payments through Stripe, PayPal or their own payment service at the moment of booking. Card payments go through Strong Customer Authentication, so your client may need to approve the payment in their banking app, which the provider handles.

We help you set rules that are fair and clear: how much deposit, when it becomes non refundable and how to reschedule. Those rules go on the booking page and in the confirmation email, not buried in terms. If you sell services online to consumers, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give a 14 day cancellation right in many cases. There are exemptions for some services tied to a specific date, so ask a solicitor to check your wording rather than copying another business's terms.

Reminder emails and texts 24 to 48 hours before an appointment also help. Booking reminders are service messages rather than marketing, but keep marketing consent separate on the form, as PECR requires.

## Getting bookings from Google

Many bookings start on Google Maps or in a search for something like nail salon near me. Your Google Business Profile can carry a booking link, and some systems go further with Reserve with Google, which puts a Book button on your listing so customers book without visiting your site. SimplyBook.me appears on Google's partner directory, and Fresha publishes its own setup guide, which notes that your business name and address must match exactly.

Your own site still matters. Service pages that describe each treatment, its duration and price give Google and customers more to go on than a booking widget alone. We write those pages and add LocalBusiness schema with your opening hours. For sector specific advice, see web design for salons, clinics or gyms.

## Which package fits a booking website?

A small booking site with a few service pages and an embedded or linked calendar fits our Starter package, from £250 + VAT. A site with a page per treatment or service, written to rank locally, sits on the Business package, from £500 + VAT. The booking tool's own subscription or fees are paid directly to the provider.

If you need something no off the shelf tool does, such as complex resource scheduling or a booking engine tied into other systems, that becomes a fixed quote. See our prices or get in touch with the tool you use now.

## What you get

- Website designed around one main action: book
- Booking system chosen, configured and embedded or linked
- Service list with durations, prices and staff where relevant
- Deposit, cancellation and rescheduling rules set up in the booking tool
- Confirmation and reminder emails, and SMS where your tool supports it
- Google Business Profile booking link set up
- Booking conversion tracking in Google Analytics

## FAQs

### How much does a booking website cost?

dijitul builds booking websites from £250 + VAT for a small site with an embedded or linked booking calendar. Larger sites with a page per service start from £500 + VAT. The booking tool's subscription or commission is separate and paid straight to the provider.

### Which booking system should I use?

It depends on your business. Calendly suits simple one to one meetings, Fresha is built for salons, SimplyBook.me handles classes, staff and resources, and Amelia keeps everything inside WordPress. We compare them against how you work and what you pay now, and we do not take commission from any of them.

### Can clients pay a deposit when they book?

Yes. Most booking tools take card payments through Stripe, PayPal or their own payment service. We set the deposit amount, when it becomes non refundable and how cancellations work, then make those rules clear on the booking page and in the confirmation email.

### Can people book from my Google listing?

Yes. You can add a booking link to your Google Business Profile. Some systems, including SimplyBook.me and Fresha, also support Reserve with Google, which adds a Book button directly on your listing. We set up whichever your booking tool supports.

### Can I keep my existing booking system?

Usually, yes. If clients already know your booking page and your diary is set up, we design the new website around it. We only suggest a change if the current tool is causing problems, such as being slow on phones or not supporting deposits.

### Is customer booking data safe?

Hosted tools store booking data on their own servers, so check their UK GDPR terms. If you are a clinic or therapist, health details are special category data and need extra care. We keep forms short and only collect what you need to deliver the appointment.
