> dijitul web design builds event websites for UK festivals, conferences, wedding fairs, sports events and venues, from £250 + VAT. We connect ticketing such as Eventbrite or Ticket Tailor, add Event schema so dates show in Google, publish agendas, speaker and venue details, and make sure booking fees appear in the headline ticket price as UK drip pricing rules require.

Price: From £250 + VAT

## Problems this solves

- Your event lives on a Facebook page and an Eventbrite link, and looks unofficial
- Ticket buyers complain about fees added at checkout
- Every year you rebuild the website from scratch
- The site falls over the moment tickets go on sale
- People phone to ask about parking, access and timings
- Google still shows last year's dates

## Key facts

- Event websites from £250 + VAT, or from £500 + VAT for larger multi page event sites
- Ticketing connected through tools such as Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor or WooCommerce
- Google's Event structured data needs at least a name, start date and location with a postal address
- Event rich results are available in the United Kingdom, according to Google Search Central
- Since 6 April 2025, unavoidable booking fees must be in the headline price under the DMCC Act 2024
- Cancelled, postponed and rescheduled states marked up with eventStatus so Google shows the change
- Venue page with travel, parking and accessibility information

## What an event website needs to do

An event site has three jobs, and they change over the event's life:

- **Before tickets go on sale:** build interest and capture email addresses. A save the date page with an early bird signup.
- **While tickets are on sale:** answer every question that stops someone buying, and make buying quick on a phone.
- **After the event:** photos, highlights and a signup for next time, so the work you put into search visibility is not lost.

We design the site so all three states use the same pages. Next year, you change dates, line up and ticket links rather than starting again. That alone usually saves the cost of a rebuild for annual events such as festivals, shows and wedding fairs.

## Ticketing: Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor or your own checkout

Most small and medium events use a hosted ticketing platform, which handles payment, QR code tickets, scanning on the door and refunds. Eventbrite brings its own discovery audience. Ticket Tailor and similar tools are popular with organisers who want more control over branding and fees. Check each provider's current fee structure, including who pays the fee, before choosing.

Tickets can be sold through an embedded checkout on your own site, so buyers never leave, or through a branded link. Embedded checkouts feel joined up but can be slow on phones, so we test both. For events that also sell merchandise or packages, WooCommerce can sell tickets directly, though it then needs a scanning app for the door.

Whatever the tool, we put the buy button in the header, at the end of the line up and in a sticky bar on phones, and we make sure the site stays up when tickets go on sale. Busy on sale moments are a caching and hosting problem as much as a design one.

## Booking fees and the DMCC Act 2024

Ticketing is one of the areas where UK drip pricing rules bite hardest. Since 6 April 2025, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 has required mandatory fees, including booking and service fees, to be included in the headline price shown to consumers. Optional extras, such as a parking pass or a premium seat upgrade, can still be shown separately as long as they are clear.

The CMA is enforcing it. Law firm TLT reports the CMA's first fine under the Act went to the AA's driving schools, totalling £4.2 million plus refunds, for a £3 booking fee that appeared only later in the booking process. On an event site, that means the price on your ticket page and in any search listing should be the total a buyer pays for that ticket, fees included. We check this across your pages, your ticketing platform's settings and your Event schema offers before launch.

## Getting your event into Google

Google can show events in a dedicated search experience, and Google Search Central lists the United Kingdom among the countries where event rich results are available. To be eligible, Event structured data must include a name, a startDate in ISO 8601 format and a location with a postal address. We also add the end date, description, images, organiser, performer and ticket offers with price and availability.

When plans change, the markup changes too. The eventStatus property accepts EventCancelled, EventPostponed and EventRescheduled, so Google can show the update instead of the old date. Each date of a multi day or touring event gets its own Event entry. Your event page should also be linked from your search-friendly organisation site, if you have one, so the event inherits some of its authority.

## Venue, access and practical information

The questions people phone about are almost always practical. We give them a dedicated page: the address with a map link, public transport and parking, opening and set times, what to bring, bag policy, food and drink, and accessibility. Accessibility information should be specific: step free access, accessible toilets, viewing platforms, quiet areas, hearing loops and whether carers go free.

Getting this right on the site cuts calls and complaints, and helps disabled visitors decide with confidence. It also fits our accessible web design approach, built to WCAG 2.2 AA. A single event microsite usually fits our Starter package from £250 + VAT. Multi stage festivals and conferences with exhibitor and speaker pages fit the Business package from £500 + VAT. ## FAQs

### How much does an event website cost?

dijitul builds event websites from £250 + VAT for a single event microsite with ticketing connected. Larger sites with agendas, speaker or exhibitor pages and several events start from £500 + VAT. Ticketing platform fees are paid to the provider and are separate from our price.

### Can I sell tickets on my own website?

Yes. Most ticketing platforms, including Eventbrite and Ticket Tailor, offer an embedded checkout on your site, or we can link to a branded ticket page. For events that also sell merchandise, WooCommerce can sell tickets directly with a scanning app for entry.

### Do booking fees have to be included in the ticket price?

For consumers, unavoidable booking and service fees must be included in the headline price under the DMCC Act 2024, in force since 6 April 2025. Optional extras can be shown separately if they are clear. Check your ticketing platform's settings as well as your own pages.

### How do I get my event to show in Google search?

Add Event structured data with at least the event name, start date and location address, which are Google's required properties. Event rich results are available in the UK. We add the markup to every event page, plus ticket offers, organiser and images, and test it with Google's Rich Results Test.

### Can the website be reused for next year's event?

Yes, and it should be. We build the site so the dates, line up, ticket links and schema update for the next edition. Past events can stay as archive pages with photos, which keeps the search visibility you built and shows new visitors what to expect.

### What happens if my event is cancelled or postponed?

We update the page and the Event schema with eventStatus set to EventCancelled, EventPostponed or EventRescheduled, and add a clear notice for ticket holders. Your ticketing platform handles refunds or ticket transfers according to your terms.
