Business sites start from £500 + VAT.

Price: From £500 + VAT

## Problems this solves

- Your CQC rating is missing from the website, or shows last inspection's result
- Treatment pages promise outcomes you could not prove to the ASA
- A practitioner's title is used without them being on the relevant register
- Patients cannot book online, so they book with the clinic down the road
- Testimonials make health claims your evidence does not support
- The site does not explain fees, so people ring just to ask

## Key facts

- CQC Regulation 20A: rating, date and link shown on every provider website
- HCPC protected titles such as Physiotherapist and Podiatrist need registration
- CAP Code: health claims need evidence; testimonials are not proof
- No advertising of prescription-only medicines to the public
- Online booking integration with your clinic software
- Business package from £500 + VAT

## Displaying your CQC rating

If your clinic is registered with the Care Quality Commission and has a rating, Regulation 20A of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 applies. CQC's guidance says every website maintained by or for the provider must show the CQC website address, where the latest assessment can be found on CQC's site, and the most recent ratings, making clear which premises or activities each relates to and the date each rating was given. It must be shown conspicuously and legibly, and CQC can prosecute for failing to display ratings without first issuing a warning notice.

CQC provides a website widget that pulls the current rating automatically. Its guidance says using it helps make sure all the required information is shown. We place the widget in the site footer and on the home page, and check it is not blocked by your cookie consent tool or security headers. Note that some services, such as primary care dentistry, are inspected but not given an overall rating. Clinics in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have different regulators, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, Healthcare Improvement Scotland and RQIA, so we follow whichever applies to you and link to your entry on its site.

## Professional titles and registration

Many clinical titles are protected by law. The Health and Care Professions Council lists protected titles including Physiotherapist and Physical therapist, Chiropodist and Podiatrist, and Dietitian, and says anyone using one must be on its register. The HCPC has prosecuted people for using a protected title while unregistered. The same principle applies to doctors (GMC), nurses (NMC), dentists (GDC), osteopaths (GOsC) and chiropractors (GCC).

On your site each practitioner profile shows their title, registering body and registration number, with a link to the public register. If a team member is not registered for a title, their profile describes what they do without using it. This protects patients and protects you.

## Treatment pages within ASA rules

Health advertising, including your own website, falls under the CAP Code, which the ASA enforces. The key points for clinics:

- **Evidence:** objective health claims need documentary evidence, and for health therapies the ASA usually expects that to be good quality human trials.
- **Testimonials:** CAP guidance says testimonials are not evidence of efficacy. Claims within a testimonial need the same support as any other claim, and you must hold proof the testimonial is genuine and used with permission.
- **Prescription-only medicines:** CAP Code rule 12.12, reflecting the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, bans advertising them to the public. The ASA has ruled against clinics for promoting botulinum toxin, including indirect promotion through phrases like 'cosmetic injections'.

We write treatment pages that describe what happens, who it may help and what to expect, without promises. You or your clinical lead approves every claim. For aesthetics clinics, the focus is on consultations rather than named medicines.

## Booking and patient information

Patients increasingly expect to book online. Most clinic management systems offer an online booking widget, and we embed it behind a clear 'Book an appointment' button on every page. Where online booking is not suitable, such as for treatments requiring a consultation first, we use a request form that explains next steps. Forms collecting health information are kept minimal, sent over HTTPS, and the privacy notice explains how special category data is handled under UK GDPR.

A clear fees page, a 'your first visit' page and practical details like parking and accessibility answer most pre-booking questions. See booking website design.

## Packages for clinics

A single-practitioner clinic can start with the Starter package from £250 + VAT for up to five pages. Most clinics choose Business from £500 + VAT for up to 15 pages, copywriting, schema, speed tuning, conversion tracking on bookings and a training session. Multi-site groups and patient portals are quoted. Changes after launch are £45 an hour + VAT. See prices or request a quote.

## FAQs

### Do we have to show our CQC rating on our website?

If you are a CQC-registered provider with a rating, yes. Regulation 20A requires every website maintained by or for the provider to show the latest rating, its date, which services it covers and where to find the report on CQC's site, displayed conspicuously and legibly.

### What is the easiest way to display the CQC rating?

Use the CQC's own website widget. It updates automatically when a new rating is published and CQC says it helps ensure all required information is displayed. We place it in the footer and on the home page.

### Can we use patient testimonials on our clinic website?

Yes, if they are genuine, used with permission and you can prove both. CAP guidance says testimonials are not evidence of efficacy, so any health claim in a testimonial needs the same evidence as a claim you make yourself.

### Can our aesthetics clinic advertise Botox on the website?

No. Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine and CAP Code rule 12.12 bans advertising those to the public. The ASA has also ruled against indirect promotion. You can promote consultations for facial treatments without naming the medicine.

### Can a sports massage therapist call themselves a physiotherapist?

Only if they are registered with the HCPC. Physiotherapist and Physical therapist are protected titles, and using one without registration is a criminal offence. Their profile can describe their massage qualifications instead.

### Can you connect our clinic booking software?

Usually yes. Most clinic management systems provide a booking widget or link, which we embed and style where possible. We track booking clicks so you can see which pages bring in appointments.
