Web Design across Scotland

For Scottish businesses, dijitul designs and builds custom websites and online shops, from distillery stores and Highland guest house booking sites to Edinburgh professional firms. We work remotely from Mansfield, so projects run over video calls and shared previews. Websites start from £250 + VAT and ecommerce shops from £750 + VAT.

Websites for Scotland businesses

Scotland's websites follow its industries. Food and drink is the most visible: whisky, gin, smoked salmon, seafood and specialist producers who sell through their own sites as well as shops and distributors. Those shops need product pages with tasting notes and clear photography, age confirmation where alcohol is sold, and delivery rules that handle Highland and island postcodes, where couriers often charge more. A Shopify or WooCommerce build can set those zones up properly so the checkout does not surprise anyone.

Edinburgh has a large financial and legal sector, and Glasgow mixes professional services, engineering and a big creative scene. Firms in both cities compete for search terms that are expensive to win, so their sites need fast pages, detailed service content, schema markup and an accessible build. Scottish law and property processes differ from England's, so a solicitor's or estate agent's site should talk about Scottish procedure, not copy wording written for English clients.

  • Distilleries and food producers: online shops with gift options and postcode-based delivery
  • Hotels, guest houses and tour operators: booking sites that cope with seasonal pricing
  • Energy and engineering firms around Aberdeen: B2B sites with capability and safety information
  • Law firms and accountants in Edinburgh and Glasgow: service pages written for local search
  • University spin-outs: a first site that looks credible to investors

Tourism across the Highlands and islands is heavily seasonal, and a booking form that stops sending emails in July costs real money. Many rural businesses also have patchy broadband, which makes a light, fast site more important, not less: visitors on mobile data in a glen will not wait for a heavy page. Some public-facing organisations want Gaelic alongside English, which needs a proper multilingual setup with a language switcher and correct hreflang tags. We have no office in Scotland. Projects run from Mansfield over video calls and private staging links.

Frequently asked questions

Can you build a website for a Scottish business without visiting?

Yes. All of our web design work is done remotely from Mansfield. We gather the brief on a video call, share designs and a private staging site for you to review, and train your team over a screen share. Scottish clients get exactly the same process and prices as anyone else.

Can my online shop charge different delivery for Highlands and islands postcodes?

Yes. Both Shopify and WooCommerce let us set delivery zones by postcode, so Highland, island and Northern Ireland addresses can carry their own rates or courier options. We set those rules up during the build so customers see the right cost before they pay.

Can you build a website in English and Gaelic?

Yes. We can build a bilingual site with a language switcher, separate URLs for each language and hreflang tags so Google shows the right version. You or your translator supply the Gaelic text and we lay it out. Multilingual builds are usually given a fixed quote.
