What makes a landing page different
A home page serves everyone: new visitors, returning customers, job seekers, suppliers. A landing page serves one visitor with one intention, usually someone who has just clicked an ad. Remove the main navigation, remove the distractions and give them one thing to do.
Good landing pages share a recognisable structure:
- A headline that repeats the promise in the ad. If the ad says same day boiler repair, the page says it too.
- A short supporting line and a visible call to action in the first screen on a phone.
- Proof: genuine reviews, accreditations, photos of real work.
- Detail for the cautious: what happens next, prices or price ranges, areas covered.
- A repeat of the call to action at the end.
Speed matters more when you pay per click
Every slow second on a paid landing page wastes money you have already spent on the click. We build landing pages to Google's Core Web Vitals targets, which web.dev defines as Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint within 200 milliseconds and Cumulative Layout Shift no higher than 0.1. In practice that means a compressed hero image in WebP or AVIF, very little JavaScript, no sliders and fonts that load without shifting the layout.
Most ad traffic arrives on a phone. StatCounter's September 2026 figures put mobile phones at around 54% of UK web page views overall, and ads seen inside social apps are clicked on the same phone. We design and test the phone version first.
Tracking that tells you what's working
A landing page without tracking is guesswork. We set up:
- Form submissions recorded as conversions, using a thank you page or event
- Tap-to-call clicks on mobile recorded as conversions
- Google Analytics 4 events and, where you use them, Google Ads or Meta conversion setup
- UTM-tagged links so campaign traffic is separated from organic visits
- Cookie consent that respects UK GDPR and PECR, so tracking only fires with permission where required
For a page that keeps improving over time, see conversion-focused web design.
Price and turnaround
A single custom landing page is covered by our Starter package from £250 + VAT. If you need several pages for different services, locations or audiences, we build a template once and vary the content, which keeps the cost down. Extra variants and later edits are £45 an hour + VAT. If you need a full site rather than a campaign page, see website design or our pricing page.
Common landing page mistakes
When a campaign underperforms, the page is often the problem rather than the ad. The usual culprits:
- Message mismatch: the ad offers a free quote, the page leads with company history.
- Too many choices: a full menu, social icons and links to other services all compete with the one action you paid for.
- A form that asks too much: every extra field loses people. Ask only what you need to call back.
- No phone option: many people on a phone would rather tap to call than type.
- Slow hero media: background video and large images delay Largest Contentful Paint.
- No way to measure: without conversion tracking you can't tell a good campaign from a bad one.
We check every page we build against this list before it goes live, and we are happy to review an existing landing page against it too.
Landing page or one-page website?
They look similar but do different jobs. A landing page is built for a campaign and is often hidden from site navigation. A one-page website is your whole online presence on a single scrolling page, built to be found in search. If you are launching a product or event, also look at event website design. Running ads already? Send us the ad and we'll suggest what the page should say.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a landing page cost?
A custom landing page from dijitul starts from £250 + VAT under our Starter package. It includes design, build, copy matched to your offer, a form or click-to-call and conversion tracking. Additional variants are charged at £45 an hour + VAT.
Should my landing page have a menu?
Usually not. Removing the main navigation keeps visitors focused on one action. We normally keep your logo, a phone number and a link to your privacy policy, and leave everything else out.
Can the landing page go on my existing website?
Yes. On WordPress we can add it as a page with its own layout and no menu. On other platforms we can host it on a campaign subdomain or a separate lightweight build, linked to your main site.
Do you manage the ads as well?
We design and build the page and set up conversion tracking. Ad campaign management is a separate service. We are happy to work with whoever runs your ads so the page and ad message match.
How quickly can you build a landing page?
A single landing page is usually much quicker than a full site because there is one page to design and approve. Having your offer, prices and photos ready is what speeds it up most.
