Sound familiar?
- Your website was built ten years ago and still lists machines you sold
- Buyers ring to ask if you can work in stainless or hold a tolerance, because the site does not say
- Your quote form will not accept a STEP file
- Datasheets are scanned PDFs nobody can search
- Procurement teams ask for your ISO certificate and you email it every time
- You need apprentices and engineers but the careers page is one line
Key facts
- Capability pages per process (CNC machining, laser cutting, fabrication, injection moulding and so on) with machine lists, materials and sizes
- RFQ form that accepts drawings in PDF, DXF, DWG and STEP formats, with file size limits set to suit your CAD exports
- Datasheets as indexed HTML pages with a PDF download, so Google and buyers can both read them
- Accreditation logos shown only where you hold the certificate: CAP Code rule 3.50 bars trust marks displayed without authorisation
- Organization and Product schema.org markup for your company and product ranges
- Optional trade ordering for repeat buyers as a B2B ecommerce build, from £750 + VAT
How industrial buyers search
A buyer or design engineer looking for a supplier rarely searches for your company name. They search for the job: "5 axis CNC machining UK", "stainless steel fabrication Nottinghamshire", "sheet metal laser cutting 20mm", "short run injection moulding", "powder coating trade". Then they shortlist suppliers who clearly do that, at that size, in that material, and send the same drawing to three of them.
Your website has one job in that process: get on the shortlist. That means process pages that answer the engineering questions up front: maximum bed size, materials, typical tolerances, batch sizes, finishing, inspection equipment and lead times. A buyer who can see you have a 3,000 by 1,500 laser bed and cut up to 20mm mild steel does not need to phone to check. Pages written like this also rank, because they contain the exact terms people type.
We also write pages for the industries you serve. A food manufacturer wants to know you understand hygienic design; an automotive buyer wants to see PPAP and traceability. Separate sector pages let each audience find their concerns addressed.
Quote forms that accept real drawings
The request for quote is the conversion that matters. Many manufacturer sites lose it at the form: no file upload, a 5MB limit, or a form that only accepts PDF. We build RFQ forms that accept the formats your estimators actually use, such as PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP and IGES, with a size limit that suits your typical exports, and send the files securely to the right inbox or CRM.
The form asks for what you need to quote: quantity, material, finish, required date and whether it is a one-off or repeat. Optional fields stay optional. If you get a lot of repeat orders, a trade login with order history and reorder buttons is a B2B ecommerce build. Custom quoting calculators or links to your ERP are quoted separately and our software team at dijitul developments can scope them.
Datasheets, downloads and technical content
Engineers want specifications, and they want them without filling in a form. We publish each product or material datasheet as a normal web page with the key figures in an HTML table, plus a PDF download for filing. That way Google indexes the content, buyers can compare quickly on a phone, and the PDF is still there for the technical file.
For CAD models, we can host downloadable STEP or DWG files beside each product, or link to a parts library if you use one. Large files are served from storage designed for downloads so they do not slow the rest of the site.
Technical articles help too. A short guide on choosing between laser and plasma cutting, or on designing parts for powder coating, answers questions buyers ask early in a project and gives AI assistants a clear, quotable source that names your business.
Accreditations, trust and compliance
Procurement teams check accreditations before they check prices. We give quality its own page: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS9100, IATF 16949 or whatever you hold, with the certificate number, certification body and a PDF download. Buyers can verify certificates issued under UKAS accreditation online, so we show the details they need to check.
Only show what you hold. CAP Code rule 3.50 says marketing must not display a trust mark or quality mark without the necessary authorisation, and certification bodies have their own logo rules. If a certificate lapses, the logo comes off the site. We also build the legal pages a limited company needs, including your registered company details in the footer.
Because many manufacturers export, we can add language versions for key markets. That is a multilingual website and is quoted, since translation and structure vary by project.

Frequently asked questions
Can buyers upload drawings through the quote form?
Yes. We build RFQ forms that accept PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP and IGES files, with a size limit set to suit your exports. Files are sent securely to your estimating inbox or CRM, along with quantity, material, finish and the date required.
Should our datasheets be PDFs or web pages?
Both. We publish the specifications as an HTML page so Google can index them and buyers can read them on a phone, and attach the PDF for download. Scanned PDFs on their own are hard to search and rarely rank.
Can we show our ISO and other accreditation logos?
Yes, as long as you hold the certification. CAP Code rule 3.50 bars displaying trust or quality marks without authorisation, and certification bodies set their own logo rules. We add certificate numbers, issuing bodies and downloads so procurement teams can check them.
Do you write the technical content?
Yes, copywriting is included in the Business package. We interview your engineers or estimators about machines, materials, tolerances and typical jobs, then write pages in plain English that still contain the technical terms buyers search for. You approve every page before launch.
Can we take trade orders online?
Yes. A trade portal with customer accounts, price lists per customer and repeat ordering is a B2B ecommerce build from £750 + VAT, with more complex ERP or stock integrations quoted after a call.
How long does a manufacturer website take?
A Business package site is typically live in 5 to 6 weeks. Manufacturing projects often depend on photography of the shop floor and sign-off from engineers, so we agree a content plan in week one to keep it moving.
