Web Design for Electricians and Electrical Contractors

dijitul web design builds websites for UK electricians and electrical contractors. We give EICRs, rewires, consumer units, EV chargers and fault finding their own pages, show your NICEIC, NAPIT or other scheme logo exactly as the scheme allows, and put click-to-call on every screen. Starter sites start from £250 + VAT.

Sound familiar?

  • Your site shows the plain NICEIC logo, which the scheme does not allow contractors to use
  • Landlords want EICRs booked quickly but have to ring and leave a message
  • You fit EV chargers and solar now but the site still says 'domestic electrician'
  • Commercial clients cannot see your insurance or accreditations without asking
  • Every page lists every service, so none of them ranks
  • Customers ask whether you can sign off your own work and the site does not explain

Key facts

  • Starter from £250 + VAT, Business from £500 + VAT
  • NICEIC rules: show your scheme logo, never the NICEIC logo on its own
  • Separate pages for domestic, landlord and commercial work
  • Landlord EICR request form with property and access details
  • Clear explanation of Part P self-certification for homeowners
  • LocalBusiness schema, Google Business Profile and Search Console

What electrical customers search for

Electrical searches fall into a few groups. Urgent ones like 'electrician near me no power' or 'RCD keeps tripping'. Compliance ones like 'EICR for landlords' and 'electrical certificate for selling house'. Project ones like 'house rewire cost', 'consumer unit upgrade' and 'EV charger installer'. Each group wants a different page.

Urgent visitors need your number and your hours. Landlords want to know turnaround, price basis and whether you can deal with their letting agent. Project customers want to understand the job: how long a rewire takes, how much disruption, whether they can stay in the house. A site that answers these on separate pages ranks for more searches and converts better than one long list of services.

NICEIC, NAPIT and scheme logos

Most domestic electricians belong to a competent person scheme so they can self-certify notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. Your website is where customers look for proof, and the schemes are strict about how their marks are used.

NICEIC's Logo Usage Guidelines (April 2023) say organisations are not permitted to use the NICEIC logo in isolation, only NICEIC itself may do so. Contractors use the scheme logo they hold, such as Approved Contractor or Domestic Installer, which combines the NICEIC mark with the scheme name. The guidelines say there is no size restriction as long as it stays legible, but the logo must not be stretched, squashed, modified or recreated, and must not be used in relation to services outside the scope of your certification. Trade press has reported contractors being fined for misusing the NICEIC logo, so this is not a box-ticking point.

On your site we:

  • use the artwork downloaded from your scheme's customer portal
  • pair the logo with a line such as 'NICEIC Domestic Installer, registered for domestic installation work'
  • link it to your listing on the scheme's public search
  • keep the logo off pages for work your scheme does not cover

The same approach applies to NAPIT, MCS for solar and battery work, and TrustMark if you are registered.

Explaining certification without the jargon

Many homeowners do not know what a competent person scheme is, so a short, plain explanation builds trust. Approved Document P sets out routes for showing notifiable electrical work complies: self-certification by a registered competent person, third-party certification, or inspection by a building control body. A registered electrician can notify the work and the customer then receives a Building Regulations compliance certificate. We write this up on a short page and link to it from your rewire and consumer unit pages.

We do not overstate it. The page explains what you are registered for and points people to the scheme's register to check, rather than making claims about legal outcomes for their particular job.

Landlords, agents and commercial work

Landlords and letting agents can be steady repeat business. A dedicated page for EICRs, with a form that takes the property address, tenant contact or key arrangements and preferred dates, makes you easy to book. For agents managing many properties, a 'send us your list' option with a file upload saves both sides time.

Commercial clients look for different things: insurance cover levels, health and safety accreditation, testing and inspection experience, out-of-hours working. A credentials section with those facts, and certificates available on request, helps you get through procurement. Keep these pages separate from domestic ones so neither audience feels the site is not for them.

Packages for electricians

A sole trader electrician usually starts with our Starter package from £250 + VAT: up to five pages, a custom mobile-first design, click-to-call, a contact form and your Google Business Profile. When you want separate pages for EICRs, rewires, EV chargers and commercial work, the Business package from £500 + VAT gives you up to 15 pages with copywriting, schema, local SEO groundwork and conversion tracking. Sites load fast because we compress images to WebP and keep scripts lean, aiming for Google's Core Web Vitals 'good' thresholds. Read about small business website design or see prices.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the NICEIC logo on my website?

You can use the NICEIC scheme logo you are certificated for, such as Approved Contractor or Domestic Installer. NICEIC's guidelines say organisations must not use the NICEIC logo on its own, and the logo must not be modified, recreated or used for work outside your certification scope.

Should I list prices for EICRs and rewires?

Guide prices help landlords decide quickly, especially for EICRs where the job is fairly predictable. Rewires vary widely, so 'from' prices or a short explanation of what affects cost usually work better. Make clear whether figures include VAT and any remedial work.

Can landlords book an EICR through my website?

Yes. We build a booking request form that captures the property address, number of circuits if known, access arrangements and preferred dates. You confirm the slot. A live calendar is possible too and is quoted separately.

Do I need separate pages for EV charger installation?

If you want to be found for it, yes. People search specifically for EV charger installers, and a dedicated page can cover the chargers you fit, survey process, and any scheme registrations that apply. It fits within our Business package of up to 15 pages.

What if I leave my competent person scheme?

Remove the logo and any claims about self-certification straight away. If you are on a care plan, tell us and we will do it the same day. Otherwise it is a small change at £45 an hour + VAT.
