What a brochure website is
A brochure website is a site that informs and persuades but doesn't sell online. It is the digital version of your company brochure: who you are, what you do, why you're good at it and how to get in touch. Most service businesses need exactly this. Accountants, builders, consultants, clinics, manufacturers and charities usually win work through an enquiry or a phone call, not a shopping basket.
The word brochure undersells it, though. A printed brochure is read by someone who already has it in their hand. A brochure website has to be found first, so it needs to be built for search as much as for reading.
The pages a brochure site usually needs
| Page | Its job |
|---|---|
| Home | Say what you do and where, show proof, route visitors to services |
| Service pages | One per service, answering the questions customers ask before they call |
| About | Real people, history and credentials you can evidence |
| Work or projects | Photos and short write-ups of real jobs |
| Reviews | Genuine feedback, linked to Google or trade platforms |
| Contact | Form, phone, email, address, hours and area covered |
| Privacy and cookies | Required under UK GDPR when you collect enquiries |
The Starter package covers up to 5 pages, enough for a firm with a few services grouped together. The Business package covers up to 15, so each service gets its own page.
Why separate service pages matter
Google ranks individual pages. A single services page listing ten things can only compete weakly for each. A dedicated page for, say, commercial cleaning or bookkeeping for landlords can carry its own title, headings, FAQs and schema markup, and answer the exact question the searcher typed.
That is why the Business package from £500 + VAT includes copywriting written to rank, full schema markup and local SEO groundwork. We write each service page to cover what's included, who it's for, how it works, rough timescales and a clear next step. For the writing side in more depth, see website copywriting and SEO-friendly web design.
Brochure features that earn their place
- Downloadable PDFs: price lists, spec sheets or a printable brochure, compressed and linked from the relevant page
- Quote request forms: with the questions you would ask on the phone, so enquiries arrive ready to price
- Team profiles: easy to add and remove as staff change
- News or blog: optional, for firms that will genuinely keep it updated; see blog design
- Accessibility: contrast, focus states and form labels checked against WCAG 2.2 AA; see accessible web design
We leave out things that slow a site down without helping, such as auto-playing sliders and heavy animation.
Writing a brochure site people actually read
People skim web pages far more than printed brochures, so we write for scanning:
- Headings that answer questions: what's included, how long it takes, what it costs, areas covered
- Short paragraphs and lists instead of long blocks of text
- One clear action per page, repeated at the end, so readers never have to hunt for it
- Specifics over adjectives: accreditations you hold, years trading, response times you actually keep
- FAQs on service pages that cover the objections you hear on the phone
On the Business package we interview you and write this copy for you. On Starter, you supply the text and we edit it into shape so it reads well on a phone screen.
Platforms, price and next steps
Most of our brochure sites are built on WordPress so you can edit pages in the block editor. Very simple sites that rarely change can be static for maximum speed. Prices: Starter from £250 + VAT for up to 5 pages, Business from £500 + VAT for up to 15. If you later want to sell online, ecommerce starts from £750 + VAT. Frequently asked questions
What is a brochure website?
A brochure website is a site that presents your business, services and contact details without selling products online. Visitors read about you and then call, email or fill in a form. Most service businesses, from trades to professional firms, need this type of site.
How much does a brochure website cost?
With dijitul, a brochure website costs from £250 + VAT for up to 5 pages, or from £500 + VAT for up to 15 pages including copywriting, schema markup and local SEO groundwork. Domains, hosting and stock photography are extras listed in the quote.
Can a brochure website take bookings or payments?
It can link to or embed a third party booking tool, or take simple deposits. If booking or selling becomes central to the business, a dedicated booking website or online shop is the better route, from £750 + VAT for ecommerce.
How many pages should a brochure site have?
Enough for one page per main service plus home, about, reviews and contact. For a firm with three services that's around seven pages; for a firm with ten services, closer to fifteen. Our packages cover up to 5 and up to 15.
Can you turn my printed brochure into a website?
Yes. Send us the print file and we'll use it as a starting point for the content and brand, then restructure it into web pages with headings, calls to action and search-friendly copy, since people read screens differently from paper.
